Cleaning out our Souls

Posted in Uncategorized at 5:28 PM by Administrator

As this year begins, most people look to cleaning out something or getting organized in some area of their life. Our soul should be no different. Let’s take some time to clean out our soul by looking at all we accomplished this past year or didn’t. Let’s take some inventory: Are we caring around some old baggage? Past hurts, unforgiveness, bitterness. What’s going on in my life that isn’t productive to the kingdom of God? Have I formed some thought patterns or ways of doing things that could be detrimental if given time to really take root? Maybe they already have taken root. Are there some friends that I really need to let go of, but I just can’t bear the thought? Sometimes we have had old habits so long that we have begun to just work around them or even justify them. Let this year be the year you take that old habit that seems hard to break and ask the Lord to show you what keeps you from changing in that area? Have you begun to sow disgruntlement with your mouth? Griping and discontent breed quickly in those around you as well as in yourself and before long you realize you aren’t happy about anything when really your mouth has been left untamed. Let’s remember that His praise should always be in our mouth. That it’s our responsibility to bring our thoughts into the captivity of the obedience of Christ.

Psalms 51:10 Create in me a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Proverbs 16:2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weighs the spirits

Ask God to help you clean His temple out today. He’s in the cleaning business…He’ll be glad to come help!

What’s Your Gift?

Posted in Uncategorized at 5:12 PM by Administrator

It’s important to know what our gifts and callings are.  We’re all different so our gifts will be different.  The biggest mistake we can make is wishing we were like someone else.  If we try to be like someone else then we aren’t fulfilling what God has purposed us for in our life.  We all have a mission in life that God has equipped us for using the gifts and natural abilities we were born with.   The Bible says your gifts make room for you and bring you before great men.  It’s important in your secular job as well as in the church to know who you are.  It’s great to know who your spouse is as well.  Makes life with them a lot easier!  A lot of time behavioral issues with our children can be worked out by simply finding out what their love language is and showing them love in the way they understand it.  Find out what your gifts are and pursue using them.  After all, you can’t trade  your gifts and God gave them to you so that you could fulfill a great and mighty work.  Let your gift make room for you and bring you before great men. (Proverbs 18:16) Below are some great resources for finding out who you are.

What are you believing for?

Posted in Uncategorized at 10:06 AM by Administrator

With so much going on in life, it’s a good thing to have a plan. God says we are to plan our way and He will direct our path. I want to encourage you to write down what you and your family are believing for in the next year-bigger house, braces for the kids, a loved one saved, money for college. Begin to speak the word over it in faith knowing that God will provide. He says if we know He has heard us we know that we have the answer. His ear attends to the righteous. Mix your faith with the Word of God. You’ll be astounded what God will do with your mustard seed size faith!!!

Speak the word

Posted in Uncategorized at 10:21 PM by Administrator

There are so many things we need to do as Christians.  Go to church, read the Bible, love our neighbor, watch our tongue…and the list goes on and on.  Obviously we’re just human and God knows we won’t always keep all the balls in the air.  But today God reminded me that one of the absolute most important things we can do is to speak the word constantly.   Not only should we speak the word over our situations in life but we should uplift our own soul with the word.  So remember this week as you are living your life, that speaking the word in your life will change your circumstances!  God’s word CAN’T return to Him void.  It must accomplish what it was sent out for!!
